Getting started

How Parafoil works

  1. Connect your work calendar. Parafoil reads your calendar so it knows which meetings are coming up and who is in them. Google Calendar and Outlook are both supported.
  2. Install the desktop app. Parafoil runs on Mac, and a Windows app is coming soon. The app analyzes your meetings from your own computer, so there is no bot joining the call.
  3. Lead your meetings as usual. Nothing changes for the people you meet with.
  4. Get your feedback. After each meeting you get private feedback on how you led, with specific actions to try next time.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a work account to use Parafoil?

Yes. Parafoil is built for managers inside organizations, so sign up with your work email and work calendar. That's how Parafoil finds your meetings. A personal account can't see your work meetings, so there would be nothing to analyze.

Does Parafoil work with Outlook?

Yes. Parafoil works with Google Calendar and Outlook calendars. See Integrations for the full list.

Can I use Parafoil on Windows?

Not yet. A Windows app is coming soon. Today the desktop app runs on Mac. If your team is on Windows, email humans@parafoil.co and we'll let you know when it's ready.

Which meeting platforms does Parafoil work with?

Almost any. The desktop app works from your Mac's microphone and speakers, so it works with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Slack huddles, FaceTime and meetings in your browser. It doesn't depend on the meeting platform's cloud features, and nobody sees a Parafoil bot join.

What do I see during a meeting?

The Parafoil icon in your menu bar shows whether Parafoil is analyzing. When a meeting starts, Parafoil shows a prompt, and you can choose Don't Analyze. During the meeting, the menu has:

  • Pause Analyzing Now, then Continue Analyzing when you're ready. The paused part isn't analyzed.
  • Stop Analyzing to end analysis for the rest of the meeting.
  • Stop Analyzing and Discard This Meeting if you'd rather the meeting wasn't analyzed at all.
Our team already uses a note-taker. Do we need the desktop app?
